New temporary playground Loose Paard

Only 140 meters from holiday home Clarissa, a remarkable piece of neo-Gothic architecture has been given a joyful new purpose. The former school building, known locally as Howest, has been transformed into a temporary playground for children, open until 15 March 2026.

This place carries a special story. Thirty years ago, I attended school there myself. Walking through the building again recently was a nostalgic experience, bringing back many memories. Today, those halls and grounds are once again full of life—this time with children’s laughter, play, and discovery.

Guests staying at holiday home Clarissa can enjoy the feeling of having an almost private playground just around the corner. It is an ideal spot for children to play freely while parents relax, knowing everything is close by.
